My 102 degree babies

It's been a rough week. John came home sick on Monday. He had a 102.3 degree fever, and the doctor said it was from a severe sinus infection. He spent all of Monday afternoon, evening, and night in bed. Then, he pretty much had a repeat performance on Tuesday. Day care called me on Friday, and Miller had a 102.5 degree fever. It turns out he has another ear infection on top of a cold we hadn't noticed and teething, which we had noticed. Both of them are on antibiotics and seem to be doing a lot better. Miller is still pretty fussy, and he's sleeping more than he normally does, but OK for the most part. He had sweet potatoes all week, and now he's moved on to asparagus, which is a great way to tell whenever he's peed. I'll leave the details to your imagination, and we'll try eggplant later on in the week. After that, we'll be moving on to fruits. Yea! He's getting so stinking big. I just can't believe it.

For whatever reason, we've been horrible about taking pictures, but we've been taking more video. I finally got around to putting the pictures from New Years, and Miller's sixth month pictures up here. So, that should be more than enough to entertain everyone.

McKade, McKason, and Miller, sitting on the couch together.

My baby's sweet, cute face. I just love that little bugger.

He went through a phase where all he wanted to do was stretch out. He didn't care if the blood pooled to the top of his head. Weiro kid (gets it from his father).

Here's a shot of his whole baptismal gown. I love it!

A sweet profile pic.

Here's a cute one of our legs with Miller sitting up in between.
Mommy (sans make-up) and Miller.

One of Amy's great ideas, on the mirror.

Who is that handsome little devil?
McKason holding onto Miller's foot. How precious is that?

Don't worry man. I got your back!
Nakey!

Looking so happy in his Ducky pajamas.
That's about right. Austin caring more about what's to eat than his nephew. Just kidding, Uncle Austin!

Now for the videos!

It's often seen, but never before has it been caught on film. It's the infamous, One-Legged Bouncer!

Here's Miller, showing off how big he is, sitting up all by himself. Daddy's playing catch with Lexi, and Miller loves to watch.

We watch a lot of "Your Baby Can Read" in our household. These are the flashcards that come with it. It cracks me up how much he loves them.

Welcome to 2010!

Phew! It's been a busy few weeks, and I've gotten a few comments about my lack of posting, so I thought I'd take time today to get a post out there. Thank goodness for holidays from work! There's been so much going on since I last posted. We had Christmas Eve dinner at our house this year, the traditional - Seafood gumbo and marinated crab claws. That's when we exchange gifts with my family. Christmas morning, we had gifts from Santa. Then, we had to hurry down to Nonna and Pops, where there were a few gifts from Santa waiting for us there as well. The day after Christmas, we drove to Tess's house to celebrate Christmas with John's family. Then, on the 30th, Miller had his sixth month appointment. He's 26.25 inches tall, and weighs 17lbs 8oz. Our friends, the Casas family, stayed with us throughout the New Years, and Aunt Amy got some super cute pictures, that we can't wait to post.

Miller is getting so big, and Lord help us when he starts moving around. He sits up all by himself now, and he's start scooting - mostly only in reverse though. He's eating real food now. John adn I are making it, but, so far he's had carrots, green beans, squash, cauliflower, and he'll start sweet potatoes. He still loves to bounce, but he really likes to be into whatever Mommy and Daddy are doing. He's definitely making it hard for me to type this blog today. He's already thrown his toy down about a dozen times; turned the caps lock on, off, and back off again; done strange things to the view of the page that Daddy will have to fix when he gets home; and that's just the tip of the iceberg. By the way, if I put the toy down on the desk because I'm tired of picking it up, he just leans and leans and leans until he can reach it.

OK, someone is getting fuzzy for his brunch, so let me throw some captions on these pictures. I'll give you fair warning, the pictures are all out of order.

Here's Miller on Christmas morning in his ball pit at Nonna and Pops's.

This was Miller Christmas morning, opening his presents from Santa at our house.
This was Christmas Eve. Uncle Austin helped Miller open some of his gifts so that Mommy would have a chance to open hers.

Here's Pops reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to Miller.

One day I left the camera in Miller's bag. Mrs. Dorothy is such a sweetheart. She snapped pictures of him throughout the day. Here he is riding the motorcycle.
This is the day after Christmas, with John's family. He's feeding Miller oatmeal, while Granny Chris holds him, and Christopher looks on.
This is our family picture the day after Christmas.
This was our family picture on Christmas day.
Here's Miller "helping" Mommy peel the sweet potatoes for dinner.
He loves those carrots!
On January 2nd, Miller was napping, Uncle Jessie and McKade were at the park, and we tried to convince a very tired Aunt Amy to go take a nap while we watched McKason. This is how she left him in our care.
This is what he looked like about five minutes later. Never leave a longhorn baby in an Aggie household. :-)

Finally, here's what Miller was doing as I started this post today. He loves for me to say Momma. It makes my day when he smiles, and I hope that means it's going to be his first word. He's started smiling now when we say Dada as well. We hope everyone had a happy New Year's, and that 2010 brings you all wonderful things.
