Quick Update from John

This is just a short post to tell you all what has been going on lately, and to give you all pictures. Miller is growing just like a weed. His bottom two front teeth have broken through, and both his top two feel like they are coming any day now. Miller still doesn't like to crawl. Not that he can't, he just doesn't feel the need to crawl to get anywhere. About the only time we can get him to crawl is if we put a toy just out of his reach. He will normally crawl to it and then sit down and play with it. However, it has to be just out of his reach. If it is too far away, he says forget it, it's not worth the effort. He loves to walk though. He is pulling himself up already, and as long as he has a play table, a hand, or something to hold onto, he'll walk like a champ.

Ok, so now a quick update as to what the Vrana family has been up to. The weekend of March 20th, Michelle, Miller, and I went to Lafayette, LA for the weekend. A good friend of the family, Toby and Anne had their engagement party. It was a crawfish boil and a whole lot of fun. Then, for Easter weekend, Toby, Anne, and Toby's mom, Mrs. Peggy came up here. We had another crawfish boil, a weenie roast, dyed easter eggs, played some volleyball, and had an egg hunt. Since Miller's a little too young to be egg hunting yet, Mrs. Peggy and Michell's mom hide eggs with money in them, and the younger adults (23-38) hunt and fight each other for them. The Tuesday after Easter, Michelle's mom left for two weeks to go to San Antonio as that is where Michelle's dad is working for the next 6 weeks. So, Michelle and I are taking care of their dogs, cats, horses and cows while Michelle's mom is away. Michelle and I kind of took it easy this weekend.

We did get a pleasant surprise today from a neighbor though. Our neighbor came over today and offered us her old patio furniture for free as she is lanscaping/remaking her patio/backyard. When I say her "old" patio furniture, what I really mean is her not sold old patio furniture. This stuff was in great shape, and since we only had two chairs and a lounger, I figured it was a steal. We got a glass table with four matching chairs, and a matching swing. Pretty good deal I'd say. So, that's all that's new in our world I guess.

Alright, so here are pictures. I'm not going to be as good as Michelle and post captions on all of them. I know you are smart people and can figure them out.

Weekends away

We've been on the go a lot lately. Last weekend, we all made a trip to Bryan. The next morning John and his friends went to Santa Fe, Texas to visit a friend's parents. Amy and I spent the weekend taking nine-month pictures. Well, I watched her take pictures. HeeHee We had a great time going around campus and playing with McKade and McKason. McKade and I had a lot of fun playing Aunt Michelle's game. You name a color, and you have to find something that color. I think McKade liked it because it was easier than I Spy. I was talking a little bit about work, saying how I was a scientist. McKade must have picked up on it because Amy sent me this conversation:
"You would be proud. McKade wants to take a DNA/genetics class at the museum because that is what Aunt Michelle does."
Quote from McKade: "I want to learn about DNAs. It is stuff that makes up your body."
It just made my day. Also, Miller got his first tooth, finally. He's getting too big too fast.

Here's some pictures from the past week. Sorry, no video this week. They take forever to load, and they don't show up on my netbook, for whatever reason. They'll have to wait for another time.

I know I had pictures of this outfit on the last blog, but I just love his expression in this one.

This is when he was feeding himself potato salad. He LOVED it. I actually have a video of him playing in it. Lexi loved it too.

Just like Daddy, he fell asleep with his arm over his face.

Here's an example of how big he's getting. He's started pulling up on stuff. He can't pull up on this all on his own, but he will stand there and play if we put him up to it.

Poor Aunt Amy, having to entertain everybody at once. I just love McKason in this picture, just hanging out.

Here's McKade feeding the ducks at Research Park.
McKade actually took this picture. Not too shabby. He may be taking after his Mommy.

Miller and Mommy in the big Aggie ring.

He couldn't keep his eyes off McKade all weekend long. Now if McKason tried to touch him, he would start crying, but McKade was GREAT!

A close-up of Miller and Mommy.

Nobody could pinch him on St. Patrick's Day!

We went to South Louisiana this weekend for Toby and Ann's engagement party, which was a crawfish boil. We were so excited for our first crawfish boil of the season. I think John was pretty happy to be eating them.

It looks like Miller is a little unsure about this.

Miller was so good this weekend. Everybody kept telling us he was the best baby! Here's a picture of Miller with Aunt Ann.
Have a great week everybody!

All about naps.

Sorry it's been so long since we posted, and the last post was literally just pictures that John added comments to. Miller is changing so fast now. He's not really crawling, more scooting, but we found out that this week he has started pulling up on things at daycare. The little guy might just bypass crawling and go straight to walking. Also, Mrs. Dorothy told us he's been saying mamamamamama lately...guess all my brain-washing has finally paid off. Not to be outdone, John told me he heard Miller saying dadadadadadada later on that night. He has started trying to repeat John though. John will say DaDa, and Miller will say AhAh. It's cute. The little guy is camera shy when it comes to recording it because as soon as I get that camera out he stops talking, but he's a little chatter box the rest of the time.

John finished up his 8-week class, which is great. He's getting closer and closer to being done.

Here's some pictures for everyone to enjoy:

Relaxing on Momma, eating his dinner.

Not two seconds before I snapped this picture, he was reaching out and playing with Lexi's tail. Of course, as soon as I pick up the camera, he has to change his mind.

A close up. He woke up with that scratch across his face. Guess we waited a little too long to trim those fingernails.

Yesterday, Miller, Mommy, Nonna, and Mimi all went shopping. We were leaving right around his nap time, so I was thinking he would fall asleep in the car. Daddy was holding him while Mommy was getting ready. Turns out the little guy couldn't wait until ten. He was out on Daddy's chest instead.
After we got back from shopping, Daddy had him on his shoulders. Of course, Miller loved it. Either that, or he loved the fact that we took off his pants and socks. I fear we have a nudist on our hands.
Church was just too much for him today. He fell asleep in the car on the way home.

I'm not completely sure which video is which. One of them is me filming Miller right after he was talking, where he just looks at me the whole time because he doesn't want to be filmed talking. The other one is he and Daddy playing. Have a great week everybody! Love, The Vranas

New pictures of Miller. This is his Valentine's outfit that his Granny gave him. The onesie says "Little Heartbreaker"
These next two are pictures of the diaper cake Michelle made for my cousin's baby shower. She does an excellent job with them and really enjoys making them.

My cousin Shandi had her 1 yr. old daughter, Shelby, at the baby shower. Miller had his first kiss with Shelby. Shelby just wanted to keep giving Miller hugs and kisses. It was too cute.

This is a video we took this morning after breakfast. Michelle was growling at Miller and he just thought it was the funniest thing ever.

Snow Day!!

We were excited to wake up this morning to a Winter Wonderland. It started snowing yesterday afternoon, and it continued snowing most of the night. Daddy still had to work this morning, but Mommy's office closed. Combine that with Presidents Day this Monday and Mardi Gras on Tuesday, and Mommy gets a five day weekend! Yea!

Our big boy is 7.5 months old now. He's moved on to trying fruit, and he's on a normal schedule as far as his meals go. It's really nice. He's such a sweetheart. He loves for us to say "Momma" and "Dada" over and over again, bouncing, watching "Your Baby Can Read", bath time, and being NAKEY! He's such a sweetheart in the morning when we wake him up, and he loves to sit up to show off when he sits up like a big boy. He tries to sit up all by himself, but it just looks like he's doing crunches. He can't crawl yet, but he does move in a circle. He's spoiled rotten, and he's Mommy and Daddy's little bugger bear.

Here's some pictures from the past couple of weeks:

He loves when Mommy plays with the whale and says, "Glug glug. Glug glug."

He's such a big boy.
He still sleeps in his carrier, and he likes to cover his ears. I don't know why, but we'll catch him like this from time to time.
Uncle Austin was in town for Pops's birthday last weekend, and they got to spend some quality time together.

I'm going to get you Uncle Austin!

This drum was one of his Christmas presents. His Daddy picked it out, and they love to play with it together.

More tummy time.
These are blurry because of the setting on the camera, but I wanted to get shots of him as he moved around in his circle.

Here's a couple of pictures Mrs. Dorothy snapped a day care. He likes to peel the letters off the floor now that he figured out how.

Here he is riding the motorcycle. Mrs. Dorothy doesn't even have to hold him up on it anymore.
Miller with the snowman Mommy built this morning.
Our neighbor was outside and took a picture of the three of us.

Daddy and Miller with snow-covered street sign.

Our house and yard.

In the ball pit at Nonna's house.

His first taste of bananas. The little goober scared us to death when he started gagging, but he tends to do that with all the fruits at first.

Alright, he's waking up from his nap, so I better go. Have a happy Valentine's Day everyone!
