Really long birthday post

Wow, it took forever to add all of these pictures. I hope you all enjoy them. These are all from Miller's birthday party day. There were 800+ pictures to go through this weekend, so his one year pictures will just have to be in another post.

We had such a good time at the party. There were a ton of people crammed into our house, but I was so glad everyone was able to make it. We had my side of the family, John's side, the Casas's, my co-worker and her kids, as well as a handfull of the sweet ladies from Miller's daycare.

I started cooking stuff on Thursday night. Austin and his girlfriend, Mary Alice, were sweet enough to help us decorate and fix brownies on Friday evening. They were so much help, and I was so glad to have them there.

OK, I've still got a bunch to do tonight, so I'm going to go ahead and add some captions to these pictures. I doubt people even read the stuff I write at the beginning anyway. ;-)

My friend, Adriana, has a tradition they do in her family. You're supposed to put a book, money, and cake in front of the baby on his first birthday. Depending on what he goes for, it'll say what his goals in life will be.

Miller went for the cake, shocker. This means he'll have a hunger for life, where family and food are most important. :-)

Texas Reds and McKason's birthday

OK, I'm behind a week. We had Miller's birthday this weekend, but since I've got 800+ pictures to go through thanks to Aunt Amy, I'm going to post about last weekend first. This was our last busy weekend for a while, and we are so grateful. Next weekend, all we have to do is watch the dogs for my parents and relax. We'll probably still be cleaning up and putting away toys from this weekend.

Last weekend, we went to the Casas house for Texas Reds and McKason's birthday party. I thoroughly enjoyed Texas Reds, if only it would have been about 40 degrees cooler. The next day was McKason's birthday party. I don't have too many pictures from it because I was being the good Godmother, and taking the pictures so that Amy and Jessie could actually be in the pictures.

Hey everybody! Well, I managed to actually get some pictures of Miller in this one, and an especially important video. We had a follow up appointment this week for Miller. His ears have cleared up, for now, and he is 21 pounds 8 ounces. Such a big boy! We drove to the Dallas area this weekend, for an engagement parts for a cousin of mine. It was so great for me to get to see my family. It's been so long! They were so happy to see/meet Miller, and some of them hadn't even met John yet.

Without further ado, here's some pictures from the week and weekend:

Miller's been waking up within an hour after we've put him down, lately. One night, Daddy had rocked him back to sleep, and, he looked so sweet, I just had to take a picture.

So, Miller is very much more mobile now. With the weather being so oppressively hot and humid, we've been letting Doobie in from time to time. He pretty much knows to go straight back to his room and hang out. This night Miller followed him, and Doobie would just stand in the corner, with his back to him for the most part.

So, we were in Grapevine this weekend, and I made Austin stand in front of this wall, so he could look like he was one of those important men. He blends right in. I bet you can't even pick him out, right?

His next favorite thing to do is come after momma whenever she's got the camera or iPhone in her hand.
