It's about time, right?

Well, in my defense, this isn't the first time I've sat down to post a blog. I've been having technical difficulties. Plus, it doesn't help when you have a 14 month old who is obsessed with electronic equipment. As I type this, he's right here next to me with my hair dryer he's brought over from the other side of the house. He's bouncing back and forth between John, who's watching college football (Of course!) and I. I have become a college football widow, which is extremely funny since John will openly admit I'm the reason he started watching college football again to begin with. He's obsessed! I'm hoping it'll get better as the season goes on. All I have to say is A&M better make it into the top 25.

John finally finished building his "super computer." This thing is crazy...all different colors of lights, more fans than I can find. It's impressive, and he's really proud of it. It took about a year to get done, so I know he's happy he finished it up.

Also, John is back in school, this time at LSU-S for his Bachelor's degree. He's still taking a couple of courses at BPCC because 1) LSU-S is not so great when it comes to offering night classes and 2) BPCC is cheaper. So, he's taking courses that will transfer for his major.

Miller is a wild man! He moved up to the next classroom, and I think he really enjoys it. Those babies were just slowing him down! He likes to be entertained constantly, there's not much hope of him sitting quietly and entertaining himself. It's pretty much a free for all when it comes to where stuff will end up at the end of the day. I lost a tennis shoe for a few days once because he put it in the dirty clothes hamper. I already mentioned about my hair dryer. John and I pretty much have to tag team it until the little guy goes to sleep at night. He's so much fun though. He calls John Pa-Pa, and I'm BaBa. He can find his ear when we ask him to...well, about 75% of the time. John is right now teaching him to do Gig 'Em Aggies. My grand-parents swear he's a genius. Last weekend I was chasing him around their car, and then I would change directions and sneak up on him from behind. Eventually he caught on, and started looking under the car for the direction my feet were going. Little stinker. Speaking of stinker, Nonna and Pops bought his Halloween costume this week, and it's ADORABLE.

We have been going out of town here recently. We had two trips to Rockdale, one of which was for John's 10 year reunion. Wow, we're getting old. There's also quite a bit coming up in the next few weeks.

Finally, our diet has changed up around here. So far I've lost 24.5 pounds, and John's lost 12.5 pounds. I joined a weightloss place here in town, and we're walking on a nightly basis. Miller loves the walks. In fact, he'll even fall asleep in the stroller from time to time.

Miller after our nightly walk.

The little stinker got ahold of a marker, had the cap off, and had drawn on himself before I even knew it was missing.

Sleeping in the car on the way to Rockdale from Bryan.
McKade's stink face.
In the white trash stroller. Miller wasn't too fond of it, but how cute is it that he and McKade match?
At the park with Mommy and Daddy, in the race car
A family shot. This is after he played in the water.
Granny Chris and Perry came for a visit. Miller loves to play with these blocks.
A family shot - proudly supporting our Aggies.
Oh yeah - I got a hair cut. So, just to put it in perspective, the total weight of Miller and I in this picture is still less than what I weighed by myself just two months ago.
This is the only picture I actually got uploaded from our family pictures from Memorial Day. I think they're just too big. It's a cool pic of Austin and MA though.
It was raining one day when we got home. Miller insisted on walking in it. Thankfully, John went with him instead of me.

This is what happens when Mommy leaves her reviewing flags where Miller can easily get to them.

Well, since the last post with Miller's birthday...

And he's now 13 months old, I figured it was time for a new post. I'd like to say we've been busy, but no more than usual, so there's really not an excuse for taking so long to post. I still have to post family pictures from Memorial Day, but the Netbook doesn't have a drive for CD/DVDs, so that will have to wait for now. At least I've got a bunch of videos.

It's hard to see, but Momma made a mohawk while we were in the bath one night.

He has discovered where the dirty laundry is kept, and he's found that it's just the right size for him. Most of our cabinets now have rubber bands on them to keep him out. We figure he can play all he wants in this one - no harm done.

He likes to carry my shoes around by their straps. This was his favorite bouncy toy, well he's discovered it again. He just sits in the middle and plays on the piano.

Why ride on a car the conventional way?

Four generations in a picture. Grandpa Allison, Grandma Allison, Granny Chris, John, me, and Miller. This was at Alisha's baby shower. It was the only time I actually remembered to get my camera out.

John and Miller in the pool.

We went to Sci-port Discovery center, and it is SO much fun. At this exhibit, you brush the dirt off to discover different fossils.
Sidenote: As I'm typing this, I literally just watched Miller pick up a piece of paper, crumple it up, and throw it in the trash can we use as his diaper pail. I thought he was gifted and would be neat, until he started pulling out the dirty diapers.
Second sidenote: Has anyone else noticed how many now famous people are in the movie Buffy the Vampire Slayer? So far I've seen David Arquette, Ben Affleck, and Hilary Swank.

Playing in the water. This exhibit was super cool too. You could put in pieces of plastic to create a damn. Once the water had built up, you pull the plastic out and the water comes rushing out for you to splash and play in.

This was a ship that was on a raised blue padded ground. Miller loved it because it was kind of bouncy and slanted and so much fun for him to play on!
We had so much fun at Sci-port. sually Miller has to watch and observe everything, and he stays close to Mommy and Daddy. Not at Sci-port. He was running around, having a great time. He didn't care if Mommy and Daddy were there at all.
Here's Miller playing in his sandbox. We haven't been able to play in it too much because it's been so hot, but he does enjoy it when he gets the chance.

It's almost silly for me to post this video now because all he does is walk now, but this is when he first started being able to walk long distances. It's shocking how fast things change.

Here's Miller and Daddy playing the Buzz Lightyear car. So much fun!

Playing in the hamper.

He loves bread. Here he is just eating a piece.

This is us playing in the pool. When Momma says "kick, kick, kick" he actually does it!

That's it for now everybody. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Miller one year pictures

Happy 4th of July everyone. I hope you're all having a fabulous time celebrating our nation's independence. We're playing it low-key this weekend after a few weekends of doing a whole lot. This is a continuation of the last post. These are some of the one year pictures Amy got of Miller. We just transferred them straight from her camera card, so we didn't have time to edit. I'm sure she'll be less than thrilled that I posted these without letting her fix them up, but they look great to me. :-)

Here's McKason and Miller, both doing the floating foot thing. It makes me smile.

Here's a friendly rivalry game between tu and A&M. They're both trying to get a hold of the ball...

but A&M comes up with it in the end. Gig 'Em Aggies.

Sweet little smile.

He's ready for Aggie football season to begin again.

So, at some point, Amy handed me the camera. I think it's because she wants me to get some experience with taking pictures before I do their family pics. ;-) I think this is such a sweet picture though, Miller smiling with his Aunt Amy.

Posing on the helmet.

McKason and Miller sharing the helmet.

Yeah, we pretty much flopped Miller on Uncle Austin's car before he had a chance to protest (Austin - not Miller),

Daddy's "special".

I like the reflection in this picture.

Miller and McKason, checking out the outside world.

McKason is a pointer. Can't you just here them a few years from now? "I'm not touching you."

He just has such a sweet smile. I could just gobble him up.

We see this face a lot now. He loves to scream.

Superhero balloons for the birthday boy.

A great close-up.

Posing in the tree. I literally just saw my hand in this picture, so please ignore it. :-)

How old is Miller?

See the screaming face again?
Let's revisit his newborn pictures.

And now, one year old. You'll notice the mattress is quite lower now.
When Miller woke up from his nap, McKason came crawling in, so I threw him in the crib with Miller. I think they had fun.

Sweet, sweet boys.

OK that's it from Amy's camera. I still have to post pictures from my camera from the weekend. So many pictures!! Miller's really started letting go and walking now without any coercion. John and I'll have to get a video of it for everybody. :-) It's bathtime now. Have a great 4th everyone!

Really long birthday post

Wow, it took forever to add all of these pictures. I hope you all enjoy them. These are all from Miller's birthday party day. There were 800+ pictures to go through this weekend, so his one year pictures will just have to be in another post.

We had such a good time at the party. There were a ton of people crammed into our house, but I was so glad everyone was able to make it. We had my side of the family, John's side, the Casas's, my co-worker and her kids, as well as a handfull of the sweet ladies from Miller's daycare.

I started cooking stuff on Thursday night. Austin and his girlfriend, Mary Alice, were sweet enough to help us decorate and fix brownies on Friday evening. They were so much help, and I was so glad to have them there.

OK, I've still got a bunch to do tonight, so I'm going to go ahead and add some captions to these pictures. I doubt people even read the stuff I write at the beginning anyway. ;-)

Uncle Jessie holding the two babies. It looks like Miller is paying close attention.

The spread - for the most part.

Berries for the fruit dip.
The baked potato dip. Thanks to Amy B. for this recipe. It was so good, that when I realized
that they were both gone at the end of the party, I had to get the makings for one for dinner. That night, we all stood around it, and devoured it in about 15 minutres - literally.
Parmesean tomatoes.
Glenwood Tea Room's Chicken Waldorf salad on croissants. Scrumptious.

Our Godson, McKason, who is absolutely adorable.

Superhero themed decorations.

The birthday boy. Can you see Spiderman peeking through the 1?

Uncle Jessie came as Super Dad!

Mimi and Grandma Allison
McKason found one of Miller's gifts.
McKason, John (The Punisher), Miller, and me.

A cute family picture.

Brotherly love between McKade and McKason.

Perry, Grandma Allison and Elizabeth. I'm pretty sure they were all watching the DVD that my co-worker Corina made. It was absolutely amazing.

Shelia, Mimi, and Paw-paw watching the DVD.

Mary Alice (Captain America), McKade (Batman who refused to wear his costume), and Uncle Austin (Wolverine)
Super cute picture of Mary Alice and Austin. This picture does not do his hair justice. He totally had the costume down.

Danny, A.J., and Super Dad.
Nonna and Miller - sharing the same plate.
More decorations.

The poster Mary Alice made. Can you find all the Superheroes? Austin was very happy to see Blade and -insert random Superhero name here- were present.

We were happy to see a bunch of the ladies from Miller's Daycare, Mrs. Dorothy, Mrs. Jeanette, Mrs. Zinny, and Mrs. Dorothy's cousin Michelle. Oh, and my Dad at the end there.

The Super cupcakes.

The Super balloon.

Granny Chris and Daddy were trying to get Miller to show off his walking capabilities.

It didn't work. He doesn't perform on demand.

Miller finally found the sandbox!

Miller and his birthday cake.

Oh, I think he likes it.

He digs straight into it.

Look at that intensity!

Aunt Elizabeth, Aunt Tess, Granny Chris, Mrs. Jeanette, and Perry watching Miller with his cake.

Feeding some cake to Granny Chris.

McKason sees somebody peeking through the door.

Time for Miller to open presents.

John, Granny Chris, Grandma Allison, Danny, Elizbeth, Jessie, McKason, Mrs. Dorothy and her nephew - all watching Miller open gifts.

Corina, Shelby, Tia, Eli, Mary Alice, Austin, and part of me while Miller opens presents.

Miller's new K Swiss.

Miller's banner and more gifts.

Miller's gift from the Massey's. It tells everything about his birthday, famous people born on this day, important events, and the price of certain things.

Miller doesn't look too sure about sharing this.

Miller's super cute cowboy boots. Thanks Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Jason.

Aunt Elizabeth also gave Miller a little stuffed Siberian Husky, and he LOVES it!

Just a cute picture of Miller escaping.

By this time, Miller had pooped out, but McKason was still interested. John looked pretty excited about this gift too.

Miller always sticks out his hand for Mrs. Dorothy to kiss.

Walking with Aunt Elizabeth.

McKason snuck up behind me.

I wonder where that finger has been.

I have no idea what my brother is doing with his nasty toes, but McKason found it hilarious.

Right before this, Miller was crying because McKason head-butted him. It doesn't take much to change his mood.

A Buzz Lightyear toy car. Yea!!!

My friend, Adriana, has a tradition they do in her family. You're supposed to put a book, money, and cake in front of the baby on his first birthday. Depending on what he goes for, it'll say what his goals in life will be.

Miller went for the cake, shocker. This means he'll have a hunger for life, where family and food are most important. :-)
Miller and his Mrs. Dorothy.
Uncle Danny and Miller.

Miller and Aunt Elizabeth.

Miller and Aunt Tess.

Aunt Tess and Miller playing with a balloon.

Having a conversation with Grandpa Allison.

Dad, squishing McKade.

Granny Chris reading to Miller.

Miller takes McKade VERY seriously.

Playing with Mary Alice after the party was over, and the blocks were put together.

This was McKason's gift from my mom and dad.

Apparently, it was received well. Miller figured this one should be for him too.
Phew, that's it everybody. That is quite a few pictures, and I'm spent. Have a good one. I'm guessing there will be qute a few who won't see this post until Sunday, since that's the day I usually post. Haha. Two posts in one week, look at me go!
